This Privacy Policy explains how TheChannelMarket (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you interact with our Site:
- Contact-form data: Name (optional) and email address when you submit a contact / “contact to buy” message on a channel page or from /contact
- Message content: The text of any message you send us through the contact form
- Usage data: Pages visited, referral source, and browser type (via Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics, aggregated, no PII attached)
- Account data (optional): Email address if you sign in with Google to reveal masked channel identities
We do not collect any payment credentials, card numbers, or bank information through this Site. Payment is coordinated separately, off-site, after we agree on a deal in writing, see our Terms of Service for how that works.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your contact / purchase inquiries
- To send transactional emails (replies to your messages, transfer updates)
- To improve our marketplace and listings (aggregated analytics only)
We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in Supabase, a GDPR-compliant database provider hosted on AWS infrastructure in the EU (Frankfurt region by default). Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Transactional emails are sent via Resend, a compliant email service provider. Email logs are retained for 30 days on Resend's servers.
Analytics are provided by Vercel Analytics, which collects anonymous, aggregated page view data. No personal data is attached to analytics events.
4. Cookies
We use minimal, necessary cookies only: a session cookie for authenticated buyer accounts (if you sign in). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; this may affect functionality if you are signed in.
5. Your Rights
Under GDPR and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten)
- Object to processing of your data
- Request data portability

6. Data Retention
Contact messages and any associated reply thread are retained for up to 3 years for customer-support and accounting purposes. If you request deletion, we will anonymize personal fields (name, email) while retaining the message body in aggregated form where required by law.
7. Third-Party Links
Our Site may link to YouTube channel pages. YouTube is operated by Google LLC and governed by Google's own Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for their data practices.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will post the updated date at the top. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
